All API grades are available in ⅝" to 1⅛" diameters and 25 ft or 30 ft lengths. Custom grades and lengths are available on request.

Specialty Sucker Rods

Nickel-Coated Rods

A nickel-based surface layer protects the rod body in wells with H₂S, CO₂, or high chlorides. Available from ⅝" to 1½".

Hollow Rods

A continuous centre bore allows chemical injection or diluent delivery at the pump without a separate capillary string. Available from 1¼" to 1⅞" OD.

Tungsten-Coated Rods

A hard tungsten carbide coating resists abrasion in high-sand wells and rod-on-tubing wear in deviated wellbores. Available from ⅝" to 1⅛".

Heavy Weight Rods

Heavy weight rods placed above the pump keep the lower string in tension on the downstroke, reducing buckling and coupling wear.

Rod String Components

• Polished rods: 1" to 1½" diameter with a chrome-plated or spray-metal finish for long packing life
• Pony rods: 2 ft to 10 ft lengths for precise string spacing
• Couplings: API Class T and Class SM, in full-size and slimhole designs
• Rod guides and centralizers: molded and roller types to reduce rod and tubing wear

How to Choose the Right Sucker Rods

The right rod string depends on well load, depth, and corrosion conditions:

• Choose Grade C for light to medium loads in non-corrosive wells
• Choose Grade K where corrosion is a concern at light to medium loads
• Choose Grade D or KD for heavier loads and deeper pump settings
• Choose lower-hardness grades such as C or K for sour (H₂S) wells
• Choose nickel-coated, tungsten-coated, or hollow rods for corrosive, sandy, or chemically treated wells
